Application of Exposure Science Principles to Source Investigations and Contact Tracing
Maureen Perrin, MSc (Epidemiology), Associate Managing Partner
Investigating transmission paths to establish the cause of infection is time consuming and requires dedication to detail in the information management process. Principles of exposure science influence public health interventions related to diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Ebola. Contact tracing and information tool design factored into the ability to successfully manage MERS in Saudi Arabia. The public health implications can be adapted for Ebola control.
