Joe Wagner is an accomplished information services and healthcare management professional with over 30 years of experience. As senior director of the Health Data Exchange (HDX) Practice, Joe provides oversight for the delivery of all HDX services in the US, business planning & development as well as management of key accounts and consulting teams.
Joe has been at Gevity and its previous iterations since 2006, consulting on a variety of complex technology projects for some of the largest healthcare systems on the East Coast of the United States. Prior to this, Joe worked for 13 years for Broward Health in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, one of the largest public health systems in the US. He occupied many roles at the organization including Vice President and CIO during his last five years there.
Joe is a HIMSS Fellow and volunteers his time extensively for HIMSS. He is currently the Treasurer for the Central Florida Chapter and Co-Chair of the Integration and Health Information Exchange Community Roundtable. He has led the creation of, and participated in, developing relative HIE white papers which can be reviewed on the HIMSS website at HIMSS.org. He is also one of the authors for a HIMSS book, “The Handbook of Continuing Professional Development for the Health IT Profession” which was released in 2017.
Joe earned his MPA at the New York State University at Brockport and his BS in Computer Science at State University in Oswego. He also has an AAS degree in Optical Engineering.
