Vancouver, Canada – Gevity Consulting Inc. is pleased to announce that Sebastien Roy, Vice President, U.S. East, has been elected as the new Treasurer of the HIMSS New York Chapter.

The New York State Chapter of HIMSS is a non-profit organization focused on providing leadership in healthcare information technology management. The Chapter promotes professional approaches to the operation, development, and improvement of health care information and management systems that support the provision of high-quality patient care at the lowest practical cost. 

Based in New York City, Sebastien is responsible for all aspects of the Gevity’s U.S. operations and sits on the company’s Board of Directors. In addition to his management responsibilities, Sebastien also provides consulting expertise to clients in population health, project/program oversight, IT operations, digital health implementations, strategy and business enablement.

Sebastien started his career working as an IT Consultant for small and medium-sized businesses, then worked as a biomedical engineer and project manager for Sainte-Justine University Hospital Centre. In 2008, he founded health technology consulting firm SPR Consult, which he led until it was acquired by Gevity in 2014. Sebastien holds a Masters of Applied Science in Clinical Engineering from the University of Montreal, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University, a Professional Engineer licence in the province of Ontario, and several industry-recognized certifications.

Sebastien has been a HIMSS member since 2014 and became a New York Chapter member upon relocating to New York in February 2018. Sebastien is keen to contribute his time and energy to the success of the NY HIMSS Chapter, for which he firmly believes that its ongoing financial health is key. He is also looking forward to contributing creatively to fundraising efforts and supporting the Chapter’s broader planning efforts and delivering value to its members.
